BOSTON- Morrison Mahoney LLP, one of the region’s leading litigation firms, is the primary law firm sponsor of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) Mock Trial Program. The MBA Mock Trial Program offers high school students from across the state an opportunity to test their skills as lawyers and witnesses in a simulated courtroom competition. This is the third year that Morrison Mahoney will be the primary law firm sponsor of the program. Morrison Mahoney thanks the MBA Mock Trial Committee for organizing an incredible event that benefits thousands of students and all of the volunteers who serve as judges and coaches.
The Mock Trial Program is a competition that has been engaging thousands of students across the state since 1985. The goal of the Program is to help students learn more about the law, court procedures, and our legal system. The judges and coaches are volunteer positions held by members of the MBA interested in guiding and sharing knowledge with students, as the overall purpose of the program is to educate.
In addition to being the primary law firm sponsor, Morrison Mahoney attorneys also volunteer as coaches and judges. “We are proud to be part of the Mock Trial program again this year,” says Scott Burke, Managing Partner of Morrison Mahoney LLP. “We know the value of supporting students as they expand their skills and interests. Whether they aspire to become a lawyer or want to improve their public speaking and critical thinking, this competition provides a rich learning experience for all participants.”
Thousands of students at more than 125 schools across Massachusetts are participating, alongside over 100 lawyers serving as volunteers to this important program.
