PROVIDENCE- Morrison Mahoney LLP, one of the region’s leading litigation firms, has expanded its Workers' Compensation and General Liability teams in Providence, Rhode Island, adding two attorneys to assist these growing practices. Jonathan R. Myhre joined the team last December, and Joelle M. Hays joined in January. Both new attorneys bring valuable experience to the Rhode Island office.
Myhre has experience in several areas of the law including general and professional liability, as well as asbestos litigation. After law school, he was invited to serve as a law clerk for the US Virgin Islands Supreme Court. Following his clerkship, Myhre joined Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where he obtained defense verdicts in jury trials in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Hays, a partner, specializes in defending workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers, self-insureds, third-party administrators and insurance carriers before all levels of the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court. Her experience enhances the firm’s workers compensation practice in Rhode Island, and has attracted loyal clients who depend on her skills as their defense counsel.
“There are several Providence partners who have many years of experience in the defense of general and professional liability claims, and the addition of Jonathan Myhre adds depth to that bench and provides further capacity for new matters,” states Mark Nugent, Senior Partner for the Providence Office. “Joelle and Partner Michael Edwards have worked closely with the MA, NH, CT, NY and NJ offices of Morrison Mahoney LLP to provide their clients with counsel who can service their needs in the entire region consistency and efficiency.”
The addition of Myhre and Hays, experienced attorneys in two different areas of the law, is consistent with the growth of other Morrison Mahoney LLP offices which now include more than 180 lawyers in 10 offices.
