On July 13, 2016, Boston Partner Scott Burke was honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association, which gave him a Volunteer Recognition Award. The Award is given as a recognition to individuals, such as Scott, who dedicate substantial time and effort to the mission, programs and/or publications of the MBA, and enhance the MBA in a significant way.
Within the MBA, Scott has been an active member of the Ethics Committee for the past eight years, where he plays an important part addressing ethical issues faced by members. He is also a former member of the MBA’s Education Committee and previously served on the Attorney Financial Responsibility Disclosure Task Force.
Universally praised for his enthusiasm and his professionalism by the MBA members, Scott has been a CLE faculty member for the MBA for many years across the state. He has been a key contributor and a regular presenter on ethical issues, professionalism, and risk management at many CLE’s, including at the MBA’s “Practicing with Professionalism” course, which has consistently received high ratings from the attendees.
Scott also has conducted a significant number of risk management seminars for MBA Members that are part of the MBA’s malpractice insurance program, outlining malpractice risks and how to avoid behaviors that might generate such claims. He is given high praise by his colleagues within the bar for his accessibility and true desire to help his colleagues, as well as the tremendous amount of time he gives, often under the radar, to the MBA and its members.
Congratulations to Scott for his Volunteer Recognition Award!
