Boston Partner Scott Burke has been busy promoting the reputation of Morrison Mahoney and educating lawyers about risk management with a series of speaking engagements:
- Scott co-presented with the president of the MBA Insurance Agency a CLE risk management seminar at the Mohegan Sun on September 25 for a medium-size, western Massachusetts law firm at the firm’s annual retreat. Scott's program covered risk management issues in client selection, communications, changes to the Mass. Rules of Professional Conduct and engagement letter best practices.
- On October 6, Scott was one of three presenters at a CLE risk management program sponsored by the MBA at Western New England University School of Law. Scott's program covered risk management and the changes to the Massachusetts Rule of Professional Conduct that were effective on July 1, 2015. This was the first program offered by the MBA on changes to the Rules of Professional Conduct. Thanks to Steve Bolotin and Alan Brown who presented a program on the rule changes at an in-house program last summer for sharing their materials.
- On October 27, Scott will repeat his presentation on risk management and the changes to the Massachusetts Rule of Professional Conduct for the MBA at its Boston headquarters. Attendance is free for MBA members and worth 2 hours of CLE ($50 for non-members). All are welcome.
- On November 16, Scott will participate in MCLE's offering of the SJC's mandated day-long course for new attorneys, "Practicing with Professionalism." Scott's segment will address the audience of 300 on managing the attorney-client relationship and ethical risks associated with cloud computing and social media.
