BOSTON, Mass. — Morrison Mahoney LLP partner Grace V.B. Garcia has been elected secretary of the Massachusetts Bar Association for its 2018-19 year, beginning on Sept. 1. Garcia will serve as a member of the MBA’s leadership team under incoming President Christopher A. Kenney, who will seek to strengthen the MBA’s role as a partner to the legal profession, and promote civics and civic responsibility in Massachusetts through education, empowerment and engagement.

Michael Aylward has been named to serve as President-Elect of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel at the ACCEC’s recent annual meeting in Chicago. The ACCEC focuses on educating all sectors involved in the field of insurance law – including the judiciary, legal and insurance professionals, law students and businesses; a prestigious association that represents the interests of insurers and policyholders.
PROVIDENCE- Morrison Mahoney LLP, one of the region’s leading litigation firms, has expanded its Workers Compensation and General Liability Team in Providence, adding two attorneys to assist these growing practices. Jonathan Myhre joined the team last December, and Joelle Hays joined in January. Both new attorneys bring valuable experience to the Rhode Island office.
Morrison Mahoney Of Counsel Jackie Welch was elected to the Select Board by residents of the Town of Winchester. Over the past four years, Jackie was twice-elected to the Planning Board, and served as Chair this past year.
The Mock Trial Program is a competition that has been engaging thousands of students across the state since 1985. This year’s competition began in early January and will continue to progress until the ‘Final Trial’ takes place later this school year. This is the second year that Morrison Mahoney will be the primary law firm sponsor of the program.
Morrison Mahoney continues to expand its Insurance Fraud and Forensic Investigations group with the recent addition of Doug McInnis and Marykate Williams. The group advises insurers on the detection and prosecution of medical fraud and kickback schemes and staged accidents.
