Free Webinar: Emerging Insurance Law Responses to the Global Pandemic, Michael Aylward Speaking

There has been a recent surge of insurance coverage litigation since March pitting small business, particularly restaurants, against their property insurers in an effort to obtain coverage for COVID-19 business interruption losses. At the same time, claims are beginning to be made against brokers for failing to get the right insurance and a growing number of liability claims are being presented under CGL, EPL and D&O policies. As of today, there are 580 suits and class actions pending, including three competing MDL proposals.

On July 16 at 4:30 PM EST, the American College of Coverage Counsel will be presenting a free 90 minute webinar that I have organized with legal experts from around the country analyzing the legal, strategic and political implications of the pandemic litigation. The program is being presented through the auspices of the Boston College Law School. You do not need to be a BC alum to attend, however, and I would strongly recommend that you alert your insurance clients to this educational opportunity as the pandemic coverage litigation is, without exaggeration, an existential crisis for insurers.

Here is a link to register for the conference; you will then receive a Zoom link.
