Boston Partner Ted Murphy won a defense verdict in a case brought under the Longshore Act, 33 U.S.C. Sec. 901, for our client, a Fortune 100 defense contractor. The case involved allegations that plaintiff’s heavy and repetitive work as a stage builder caused or at least contributed to his career-ending bilateral knee arthritis. Two renowned orthopedic surgeons/professors of medicine testified for plaintiff. However, a federal administrative law judge adopted the contrary opinions of our client’s experts (also recognized authorities on the subject) and found in favor of our client on all claims.
