Trial Verdict 2015-16: Boston Partners Peter Knight and Tony Abeln

Boston Partners Peter Knight and Tony Abeln obtained a defense verdict in a weeklong trial in Middlesex Superior Court. Plaintiff alleged that our client, a critical care physician, failed to properly place an emergency breathing tube, leading to the death of the patient. We were able to find a particularly helpful transcript of Plaintiff’s expert’s testimony that was directly on point and led to a powerful moment in cross examination. Plaintiff’s counsel issued a 93A demand letter in the days before trial; nevertheless, the jury quickly returned a verdict on behalf of the doctor.
