Lisa C. Rocha

Lisa is an associate in the Fall River office of Morrison Mahoney. She concentrates her practice in the area of workers’ compensation.  Lisa has over thirteen years of experience defending and litigating workers’ compensation claims at the Department of Industrial Accidents from conciliation through appeal to the Reviewing Board on behalf of insurers, self-insurers and national companies.  Lisa has also negotiated numerous favorable settlements for our clients in cases which did not proceed to a full evidentiary hearing.  She always strives to provide excellent service to the firm’s clients.  Not only does Lisa dedicate herself to securing the best resolution possible in each matter but she also makes it a daily priority to respond to clients’ questions, needs and requests in a timely manner.

Lisa attends proceedings at all regional locations of the Department of Industrial Accidents throughout Massachusetts.  On a daily basis, she provides legal counsel and collaborates with claims specialists, risk management personnel, employers, vocational consultants and nurse case managers while promoting a cost effective resolution of claims.  In addition, Lisa prepares and provides training to clients on Massachusetts workers’ compensation law and regulations.

Lisa has been on the Board of Trustees of the Argosy Collegiate Charter School since 2012, and has participated in the application and interview process with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in obtaining the initial charter for Argosy Collegiate Charter School.  She drafted the Board of Trustees Handbook, by-laws and initial foundation documents.  Lisa attends monthly Board of Trustee meetings and facilitates Governance Committee meetings.  She also ensures board compliance with DESE and state training and filing requirements.  In addition, Lisa collaborates on organizational planning, policies, budget, fundraising and board development.
