Justin is a partner in the Boston office of Morrison Mahoney. He primarily represents insurers, self-insurers, and employers at all stages of workers’ compensation cases providing clients with claim assessments, a developed legal strategy in preparation for litigation, and resolution/settlement recommendations.
Justin has vast courtroom experience advocating on behalf of clients before judges at conferences and hearings at the Department of Industrial Accidents, during witness examination and cross-examination, discovery and depositions, mediations, Sec. 37 reimbursement petitions to the Workers’ Compensation Trust Fund, appeal briefs to the Department of Industrial Accidents Reviewing Board, and settlement negotiations. He has defended a diverse range of claims, including allegations of permanent and total disability, work-related death, and willful misconduct of the employer. Justin is also experienced in drafting liability waivers and other legal documents for new businesses.
Justin is a frequent writer on Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation law, having authored the firm’s 2020 Massachusetts COVID-19 Response newsletter and auditing a client’s MA Workers’ Compensation guidelines for new adjusters. He was also quoted in MA Lawyers’ Weekly discussing the legal impact of the DIA Review Board’s recent decision in In Re: Feng, Xiuhha regarding the “Going-and-Coming” Rule.
During law school, Justin was a Notes and Comments Editor for the New England Journal of Criminal and Civil Confinement.
