Rick has over 30 years of experience as a civil litigator and trial attorney. His practice focuses on the representation of non-medical professionals (such as design professionals, lawyers, and accountants) and on insurance coverage, bad faith, products liability, and general commercial litigation.

- Co-authored winning brief and argued appeal in Clark School for Creative Learning, Inc. v. Philadelphia Indem. Ins. Co., 734 F.3d 51 (1st Cir. 2013) (Court upheld disclaimer of coverage under D&O insurance policy based on a “known circumstances” exclusion).
- Co-authored winning brief in Weiss v. Grolman, 83 Mass. App. Ct. 1129 (2013) (Court affirmed dismissal of legal malpractice action due to prior pending action against law firm partner).
- Co-authored winning brief and argued appeal in Providence Builders, LLC v. Philadelphia Indem. Ins. Co., 83 Mass. App. Ct. 1127 (2013) (Court upheld disclaimer of coverage under builder’s risk based on rain exclusion).
- Served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Calvitt Clarke, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from 1981-1982.
