About Our Logo

Morrison Mahoney LLP’s 75th Anniversary logos were designed by students of Cristo Rey Boston High School. We are proud of our relationship with this inner-city high school and the students across all grade levels who participated in an Art Logo Club and submitted designs.

Cristo Rey Boston is a private, tuition-free college-prep high school in Dorchester, committed to serving culturally diverse, aspirational students with economic need. Cristo Rey's model includes a weekly placement at a Corporate Work Study job, where students connect the classroom to a career. Students strengthen their social and technical acumen as they develop newfound awareness to pursue and excel in careers or industries they may not have otherwise considered.

Morrison Mahoney has been a proud Corporate Work Study (CWS) partner with Cristo Rey Boston since 2014. Morrison Mahoney offers Cristo Rey Boston students a work environment rich in learning, support, and compassion. They have been deeply connected to the CWS program, recognizing the powerful benefits of mentoring for Cristo Rey students. Managing Partner Scott Burke, who revealed the winning designs at an event at the school held on February 17, 2023, said, "We have always been impressed by the drive, passion, and creativity of Cristo Rey Boston students and are so excited to partner with them to celebrate our firm's 75th Anniversary.”

Morrison Mahoney chose the designs of two students to use in conjunction with their year-long 75th Anniversary celebration.

Artist Brandon Barani from Hyde Park is a member of the Class of 2023. Brandon has fostered a love of art and drawing since childhood. He plans to pursue a career in the arts and is currently exploring colleges with theater and design programs. Brandon designed the Lettermark version of the anniversary logo.

Cynthia Nguyen lives in Dorchester and is a member of the Class of 2024 and created the full firm name logo. Cynthia has strong college and career aspirations beyond high school. She strives to study at an Ivy League university and work towards a career as an architect. Cynthia is interested in architecture because "it's all around us. Architecture is responsible for constructing the world we live in and, as a result, human civilization."

In addition to creating the design contest, Morrison Mahoney will donate funds to Cristo Rey Boston to support the college aspirations of its students as part of their 75th Anniversary celebration, acknowledging their long-standing relationship with the school. The donation will help Cristo Rey Boston students, including the winning artists, along their path to college success.

Rosemary J. Powers, President of Cristo Rey Boston, noted, "We are thankful to Morrison Mahoney for providing many opportunities for students. Their involvement recognizes students' efforts to create a better future for themselves and their families."

Cristo Rey Boston High School serves students predominantly hailing from Boston's neighborhoods. President Powers commented, "We are incredibly proud of our students, often the first in their families to attend college. Despite challenges, our students persevere and graduate from college at three times the rate of their peers in comparable socio-economic demographics. Cristo Rey Boston students are aspirational and hard-working young men and women who will become future leaders."
