Mark P. Harty

Mark P. Harty is the Managing Partner of Morrison Mahoney LLP. Mr. Harty's expertise is focused on handling employment cases in public agencies and the state and federal courts, civil litigation and first-party claims against insurers with emphasis on the defense of professional malpractice claims against attorneys, realtors, insurance agents and brokers, accountants, architects and engineers, as well as claims against corporate directors and officers.

Mr. Harty is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Harty is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section and Tort and Insurance Practice Section); the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel; the International Association of Defense Counsel (Legal Malpractice Committee); the Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association (former Regional Vice President for New England); Massachusetts Bar Association; and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. He is a life member of the Boston Bar Foundation and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. Mr. Harty is a frequent lecturer on issues pertaining to professional liability litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and employment discrimination claims. He also recently lectured at New England School of Law on law office and practice management. In addition, Mr. Harty is the author of numerous insurance-related articles and articles on professional liability.

Mr. Harty is the former president of the Alumni Council of Dartmouth College. In 1999, he received the Dartmouth Alumni Award for distinguished service. He is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. He has also served as a Trustee of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston and he currently serves on the Board of the Greater Boston Legal Services.

Mr. Harty is a graduate of Dartmouth College (B.A., Magna Cum Laude) and Georgetown University Law School (J.D.).
