John R. Fitzgerald is a partner in the Boston office of Morrison Mahoney, where his practice centers on insurance defense and civil litigation. Mr. Fitzgerald began his legal career twenty one years ago as a law clerk to United States District Judge Robert F. Collins in the Eastern District of Louisiana. He then practiced law for ten years in Alaska, handling a wide variety of tort, insurance defense, and commercial litigations. In 1997, he moved to New Orleans, first as an associate, and later as a partner with McAlpine & Cozad, an insurance defense firm.

He joined Morrison Mahoney in 2006, and John Fitzgerald is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Louisiana, Alaska, and before the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Fitzgerald graduated from Tulane Law School, cum laude, in 1985, where he served as President of the Class of 1985, and Editor of the Maritime Lawyer law review. Mr. Fitzgerald graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1982, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in finance at the School of Management. He has published numerous law review articles in the Maritime Lawyer law review, the Tulane Journal of Maritime Law, and the Alaska Law Review.
