Bradford R. Martin, Jr.

Bradford R. Martin, Jr. joins our Springfield office with extensive experience in commercial real estate, lender representation, business litigation, and general corporate and business law. He serves as the partner in charge of Morrison Mahoney's Western Massachusetts Business Law Department.  Before joining MM, Brad was a partner at Ryan & White, P.C. in Springfield, Massachusetts and, most recently, a partner at Martin, Downey & Steiger, P.C.

Brad has established a diverse business and real estate practice with concentrations in bank lending, commercial leasing and general corporate law. Over his career Brad has been involved in some of the largest real estate projects and financings in Western Massachusetts. In addition he represents many non-profit and religious institutions advising them on a variety of tax matters and risk management issues.

Brad is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and Hampden County Bar Association. He is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court of Massachusetts, the United State District Court of Connecticut, the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.

For several years Brad was an instructor at the Great Springfield Board of Realtors teaching classes on brokers fees and commissions and broker ethics and has lectured at local colleges on business law issues. He recently was elected chairman of the board of Teen Challenge New England, Inc., a non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation center with facilities in five New England states. He and his wife Elizabeth have a daughter and son in college and they live in Agawam, Massachusetts.

Brad was born in Holyoke, MA on July 19, 1955. After graduating from the Northfield Mt. Hermon School in 1973, Brad received a Bachelors of Arts degree, cum laude from Springfield College in 1976. In 1979, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Western New England College School of Law.
