Mark T. Nugent

Mark T. Nugent is the Senior Litigation Partner in the Providence, RI office of Morrison Mahoney LLP. Since joining the firm as a partner in 1992, Mr. Nugent‘s practice has concentrated in the areas of professional liability, including medical and legal malpractice, products liability, municipal liability and employment law. Mr. Nugent has had extensive trial experience in insurance defense matters and has represented national businesses in Rhode Island state and federal courts. Mr. Nugent has also lectured and published articles on insurance coverage and professional liability litigation.

Mr. Nugent is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and is the former Chairman of the Insurance Committee for the Rhode Island Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island.

Mr. Nugent is a graduate of Boston College ( B.A., cum laude, 1978) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D. 1981). Prior to joining Morrison Mahoney LLP, Mr. Nugent began his career with his family firm of Nugent Nugent, Ltd., which included the late J. Joseph Nugent, former Attorney General of the State of Rhode Island and the Honorable Stephen P. Nugent, Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court.
